Totochan (Tetsuko Kuroyanagi)

Every one of us has been a little girl and boy at some point in life. Do you remember whether you were naughty and had to be punished by your teacher? This is a story of a little girl and her name is Totochan. She was a little girl who had been expelled by her elementary school because she was different. She was different not because she had one more eye or she limped. She was different because she cannot understand why people do not get excited over seeing street musicians. Her mother had to send her to a special school where the classrooms were rail-road cars and the headmaster believed that children should be learning at their own pace. In Tomoe, as the school was called, Totochan was allowed to let her imagination run and lessons were always an “adventure” of knowledge.

Make yourself free this 14 December and give yourself another chance at being a little girl and boy again!

Welcome to the ‘ Reading world ‘ on this coming Friday with our speaker Denise Wong Xuyan.
